Veronqua Schaben, the oldest of the three "V" sisters, is the daughter of Doug and Shelly Schaben. Born in Scott City and raised in Ness City, she is currently a senior at the Ness City High School. Veronqua has two younger sisters, Vanessa and Virginia, whom she loves dearly.
Throughout Veronqua's high school years, she has picked Advanced Biology to be her favorite class because Mrs. McNinch is a fun teacher to learn from and it interests her. However, the class Veronqua hated the most was algebra because she said, "I am terrible at math." Her favorite teacher during high school has been Mrs. McNinch as well. Why? "Because she and her jokes are funny."
Veronqua was a member of the volleyball team all four years of high school and plans on going out for the 2010 track season. She has also been a member of FCCLA for three years. Another thing Veronqua enjoys doing is the All School Play, she likes to do the plays because they are funny when things go wrong, and she loves to act. Veronqua has participated in the All School play for all four years of high school.
A little bit about Veronqua.
1. Her favorite color is purple.
2. Her favorite sitcom is Scrubs.
3. Her favorite movies are: Twilight and Newmoon.
4. Her favorite task at Ralph's is mopping.
Yes, Veronqua works at Ralph's Super Market in Ness City, where she runs the cash register and cleans things such as the register tops, shelves, floors, and rugs. She enjoys working there because of everyone she sees and greets. Veronqua is also involved in MYF (Methodist Youth Fellowship), and helps out the community by shoveling snow- covered sidewalks, raking leaves, and holding luncheons after Sunday church services. She picked "going to Missouri for Thanksgiving," to be her best vacation so far because she got to see her "awesome family." Veronqua would also like to vacation in Germany someday because she would like to visit Sophia Endberg and Tim Schumacher, former foreign exchange students to Ness City High.
Veronqua plans to attend college at Fort Hays State University, and wants to major in Social Work because she would like to help little children in pain. Good luck to you in college, and everything that your future may hold!
