2014-2015 State Assessment Testing Schedule
March 06, 2015
Below you will find the Elementary and Jr/Sr High School schedules for State Assessment Tests for this year. We have been preparing our students to take several new state assessments this year in addition to the traditional reading, math, science, and social studies tests. The MDPT is the new writing assessment. It is an on demand writing exercise. Students will be given several pieces of information. They will be given a certain amount of time to reveiw that information and take notes over the information. They will then be given a writing prompt based on that information. Sudents will be asked then to use the notes they took to write a short essay based on the given prompt or question. The performance assessment is essentially a question that grows as the student answers the different parts of the question. For example, the student may be asked:
If you and 5 friends are hungry for pizza, and each person wants to eat 1/2 a pizza, how many pizzas will you have to order?
The question then will ask:
If each pizza costs $10.00, what is the total cost of the pizza?
The question then will ask:
Your friends decide they want the pizza delivered instead of going to the restraunt. The delivery charge is $.50 a pizza and you will tip the delivery man $5.00. What is the new total cost of the pizza?
The question then will ask:
If each person pays the same amount for the pizza, what is the total amount each person will have to pay for their portion of the pizza?
ETC.
