The New Blue Track!

I'm sure as you all have noticed, the Ness City track has a brand new look! It is a eye- blinding blue with many decals and the slogan "Home of the Eagles" placed in front of the home grandstand.
The track was remodeled by United Sports Systems out of Wichita. It was a long process that began during the second week of school. The process begins by cleaning the track thoroughly and removing all torn up parts of the track. They then applied two layers of black rubber to equalize the surface of the track. These two layers added about a quarter of an
inch to the track. Next they added the colored rubber mixed with glue to hold it all together. There was a total of four coats of this color mixture. Overall the track cost approximately $105,000 including the graphics, material, and cementing the high jump area. The process was completed on Friday, September 25, now making it open to the public. The track seems to be appreciated by the student body as 88% said they liked it according to a school survey.
