CPL Art Show

On Wednesday, April 28, fifteen high school art students will be going to Barton County Community College for the CPL art show. This art show will be taking place in the Shafer Gallery.
Only fifteen students and thirty pieces of art per school are allowed. The teachers are supposed to take the art a week ahead of time. This gives the director of the Shafer Gallery time to set up the artwork. All of this artwork is judged by practicing professional artists.
The students will be attending several different workshops during the day that are taught by the BCCC art instructors. These workshops are graphic design, painting, photography, and ceramics.
The current categories for the show:
Painting- acrylic/oil
Painting- watercolor
Drawing- charcoal
Drawing- pencil
Drawing- pastel
Printmaking
Design color
Photography
3-D sculpture
Computer generated art
Ceramics
Jewelry
Mixed media
Fibers
Prizes for current categories:
1st- gold medal and $25 cash
2nd- silver medal
3rd- bronze medal
4th and 5th- certificates
Overall prizes are as follows:
Over-all best of show- gold medal and $100 cash or $500 scholarship
2-D best of show- silver medal and $100 cash
3-D best of show- silver medal and $100 cash
Honorable mention- bronze medal and $50 cash
If you are interested in seeing the artwork shown in the art show then visit BCCC. The artwork is displayed for a full week after the show.
