SW District FFA

April 18, 2024

Ness City FFA attends the Southwest District Conference.

At this conference, the district leaders are elected for the 2024-25 school year. Trying to get one of these positions involves a very rigorous process.  Along with a completed application, resume and a short speech, the candidates are interviewed by a panel consisting of 7 SW District teachers and 6 SW District students. The panel then decides what position to offer the candidate.

After the process was complete, Ness City’s Emma Petersilie was offered “Vice President”.  FFA advisor Mrs. Klozenbucher shared her thoughts by saying “This is a high ranking position that is between the (school) chapters and the state.  Emma will have the opportunity to serve on committees at the highest level.  I’m very proud of Emma as this is a huge honor.  She worked really hard to ‘beef up’ her resume by attending a variety of FFA events.”

Emma also understands the opportunities this will open up for her.  “I get to help at the Greenhand Conference, the state convention, and the state fair.  My goals are to learn more about my SW District team, grow as a leader, and encourage people to just be themselves and sincere.”  (By the way, Emma "didn't think the interview was that bad!")

Two other Ness City FFA members were also chosen for District Delegates:  Brenna Hoss and Hannah Younger.  “These girls worked hard and earned this opportunity.  Brenna and Hannah will gain some valuable leadership experience as they continue their FFA journey.” said Mrs. Klozenbucher.

Congratulations to Emma, Brenna, Hannah and Mrs. K!
