Elementary Students participate in S.A.G.E

This year's 5th and 2nd graders are participating in a Reading Buddies program they have dubbed S.A.G.E. S.A.G.E stands for Set A Good Example. Every Tuesday and Friday afternoon the 5th Graders from Mr. Scott's classroom team up with a 2nd Grader from Mrs. Buetler's and Mrs. Smith's classrooms to read to each other. The goals of the program are:
- learners will actively participate;
- teachers become learners at times, and learners sometimes teach;
- respect will be given to each other
- questions interest and challenge students;
- diversity is celebrated, and all contributions are valued;
- students learn skills for resolving conflicts when they arise;
- members draw upon their past experience and knowledge;
- goals are clearly identified and used as a guide;
- students are invested in their own learning
This is a great opportunity for our students to work together and expand their reading potential.
