Five Seniors Take the Court for Final Home Volleyball Game

Five Seniors Take the Court for Final Home Volleyball Game

Taegin, Jewel, Brynlin, Brooklynn, and Brayli will take the court tonight for their final home volleyball game. Each player reflected on their favorite memories, the lessons they’ve learned, and the legacy they hope to leave behind.

For Brooklynn, her best moment came from practice “getting yelled at when we messed around.” Taegin’s favorite memory was last year’s home victory over St. John’s. Jewel’s is the “cheers we have and when we come together in the middle”  while Brynlin simply loved “getting to play with my friends.” For Brayli, her best memory came from “serving very well at our last home game.”

When asked about lessons learned, the seniors offered life wisdom. Brooklynn talked about perseverance: “keep pushing even when you are down.” Brayli said volleyball has taught her about “becoming a better person and being a good teammate.” Taegin noted the importance of never giving up “even when it’s hard, keep going”. Jewel reminded everyone that “practice makes perfect.” For Brynlin, the lesson was clear: “communication is key.”

Though none plan to continue playing competitively, all five said they hope to keep volleyball in their lives “just for fun.”

The seniors also shared which teammates made them laugh. Brooklynn credited Carver and Jewel, while Brayli pointed to Raylee. Taegin named Carver, Jessica, Melissa, and Brianna, Jewel chose Bryn and Kenna, and Brynlin gave a nod to Jewel.

Each was asked to capture their volleyball career in three words. Taegin’s “determined, special, fun” to Jewel’s “exciting, intense, experience.” Brayli described her career as “exciting, memorable, good-coaching,” while Brooklynn summed hers up as “just keep going.” Brynlin chose “fun, energetic, silly.”

The final question asked the girls to reflect on how they want to be remembered. Brooklynn hopes to be remembered as “funny,” while Brayli said she wants to be known as “a good teammate and always helpful.” Taegin described herself as someone who “picked up everyone when they made a mistake and cheered them on.” Jewel thought of her role as “the Hype Girl, always trying to hype everyone up,” and Brynlin said she wants to be known as “a leader.”

Thank you seniors for all your hard work and effort throughout the years!
