This past Monday, 7 FFA members were invited to spend the day helping in the FFA barn at the State Fair in Hutchinson, KS. Members arrived at the fair at 9 am ready to work. These members were in charge of cleaning the barn and getting it presentable for guests, greeting guests, correctly distributing award ribbons, and being available for other tasks. After the morning session of work was over, the rest of the morning was spent walking around the fair, looking at all the competing projects, listening to pep bands from all over the state, and trying all the very unhealthy foods that are only found at the fair. After asking senior, Izzi Reinhardt, what her favorite part of the trip was, she responded, “Getting to communicate with other people and kids who aren’t as familiar with FFA.” Junior, Wyatt Sutton, said his favorite part was “Getting to walk through the buildings and talk to all the different business booths to see what they had to offer” Overall, the short morning trip was a great experience and all 7 members had a great time meeting new people and making new memories.
