Scott City Golf Meet

April 25, 2024

Tuesday April 23rd Tyler Wittuhn, Broxton Gall, Braddix Bozarth, Summer Rupp, Ashlyn Tillitson, and Isaiah Fitzgerald along with Coach Torrez traveled to Scott City for a golf tournament.  There were 48 golfers but only the top 10 received a medal.

Coach Torrez thought “the team had a breakthrough day that should help the middle of the season slide.  This is such an individual game that our mental toughness always has to be on point.  I think today helped with that aspect!”

Overall, the team’s performance was impressive.  Tyler placed 1st with a 42 and Broxton received 2nd one stroke behind at 43.  Braddix shot a 57 (placing 14th), Ashlyn 59 (placing 16th), Summer 65, and Isaiah 70.  The team’s top 4 golf scores were added together for a total of 201 which won them the team title for the day!

Sophomore Broxton Gall said, “my good luck charm was there (Mom) and the weather was nice.  My best shot of the day was one from the sand bunker.  It was the first hole and I hit the pin with my chip shot.  It didn’t go in, but instead bounced off!  It was a good shot!”  Looking forward to the next couple of weeks, Broxton is excited about the league tournament as he gets to play against some interesting competition–some tough competition.

Tyler Wittuhn, junior, also liked the “decent weather, that really helps a lot.”  His game this year has been more about “consistent shots and training”.  His “iron game is working the best for him at Scott City, however, a long drive off of Hole 1 Par 5 really set the tone for how his day went.”

The team would like to thank Morgan Flax at Farm Bureau for sponsoring the team polos!  And Fore Lanes Bowling Alley (Gary Gantz and Colby Gantz) for the team windbreakers!  Much appreciated!
